- Read over your resume very carefully. This is the most important step when proofreading your resume. You should read it out loud so that you can hear if there are any grammatical mistakes, and if it flows. You should read your resume out loud a few times to make sure it is free of mistakes.
- Wait a while and re-read your resume. This way your eyes will be fresh and more likely to pick on mistakes you may have made in the document.
- Have another person look over your resume. By having someone else proofread your resume it will give you another set of eyes, as they may pick up on some mistakes. Another person can also let you know important information you may have omitted. Even with proofreading a resume many times you can repeatedly miss a mistake. Having another person proofread your resume will make it more likely that a mistake you missed, several times, will be found.
