Finding Resume Help
Finding resume help online is a fairly easy task as there are literally thousands of web sites offering information from properly formatting your resume and writing a strong resume objective to resume related services offering templates, builders, and wizards. Unfortunately, just the vast numbers of sites with information available on the internet can be a little intimidating to the average job seeker.
As mentioned, when I originally created this blog it was with the intentions of sharing my experiences and sharing some ideas and services that I have tried and found to be successful. The following are just a few resources I used and found to be extremely helpful in my last job seeking endeavor.
The first and most obvious was determining the best job boards to post my resume online. I obviously went with the big boy Monster.com but also looked for a niche job board that was more focused on my industry which was sales and marketing. I chose Sales Careers Online because I really liked the appearance and it had a lot of jobs listed in my niche and location.
Once I selected the sites I would post my resume on I began working on my resume. Luckily, I have always had a resume that I kept on hand and would just update any time something changed. However, even with that advantage I still wanted to do some research and started looking or some helpful resume resources online.
One of the best places I found information was actually right back where I started, Monster and Sales Careers Online. Monster has a great area of resume related information and advice located here. Sales Careers Online has some great information here.
So when it comes to finding the best resume help online, start by looking in the most obvious areas, the areas you are going to post your resume. Of course, your choices may be different than mine based on your niche and experiences but I think you’ll find that in most cases the site you will spend the most time looking at jobs and posting your resume will also be the best place to get valuable help when it comes to your resume.
